Marvel Universe by John Byrne Omnivbus has no profiles even though he did quite a few even if you ignore the covers. The closest is an unused image featuring characters from the first three issues of Deluxe, perhaps for what eventually became the 10-volume paperback series.

Incorrect: Superman is a Canadian creation
Truth: Artist Joe Shuster was born in Toronto, but he had moved to Cleveland by the time he met Jerry Siegel, who was arguably more of the driving force with the character. This is not to diminish his role; there's an energy to his art that probably contributed greatly to the strip's success as did his early depictions of Superman/Clark Kent and Lois Lane, but, and I say this as a Canadian myself, Superman is more of a US creation than Canadian.

This misconception is probably predominately Canadian. I suspect this it's largely due to Canada Post once releasing postage stamps depicting five superheroes from Canada (in the real world, not in-story like Wolverine). Superman was included, likely due to Shuster and the desire to include a much more prominent superhero than, say, Captain Canuck, who was probably the next best known character among them.

It sounds like you have a misprinted copy unfortunately; that or the book is more damaged than it appears. By any chance are any of the pages duplicated? if so, that would definitely point to a misprint. Only the one sheet is in the Avengers because every copy of the Thor index is missing that one page. Unfortunately because you're missing so many pages, any online sources reproducing them would go beyond fair use. My best suggestion is to try to return it and order another copy, I wish I had better news.
