Inspired by the news that Marvel and Hasbro have made arrangements for Marvel to publish omnibus collections of the original Marvel Comics series of ROM and the MICRONAUTS (and apparently any guest appearances they made in other titles), as well as facsimile editions of ROM #1 and MICRONAUTS #1 later this year, I issue a challenge to fans of those books and characters to create your own Imaginary Rom Handbook and Imaginary Micronauts Handbook. (Or, if you prefer, combine the two into one Rom/Micronauts Handbook.)

So, these announcements were made within the last seven days, but I've only just learned about them within the last ten minutes, in case anybody else here is interested.

I had hoped that when Marvel had re-acquired the license to Conan that we might finally see an Official Handbook entry for Conan that incorporated the Marvel material from the first time they had the Conan license as well as the-then new efforts to more fully-incorporate him into the 616 continuity (Savage Avengers, etc.), but not only did that not happen, the new license expired. However, even when Marvel still didn't have the licenses for either Rom or the Micronauts, we still got to see entries for characters introduced in those respective books that were Marvel-originated or owned (Hybrid, Torpedo [and his legacy, Turbo], Spaceknights, Marionette, Bug, Arcturus Rann, just to name a few). Who knows, maybe we might get to see new entries on other characters introduced in those long-ago ROM and MICRONAUTS series someday. (I know, an EXTREMELY long shot, but we can dream, right?)

One question: Does Marvel actually own the Dire Wraiths, or just a version of the Dire Wraiths?

The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.: One-season early 90's western/sci-fi/comedy/adventure show starring Bruce Campbell as the title character. Was the lead-in for another then-brand-new Fox show called the X-Files. Fox execs actually thought this show would do better in the ratings than the X-Files, who knew? In his autobiography, "If Chins Could Kill," Campbell admits that by the time the show was cancelled he was ready for it. Its opening theme music would later be used for years during many, many live sports broadcasts. Also co-starred Julius Carry (RIP) and Christian Clemenson with frequent guest appearances by Kelly Rutherford, John Astin, John Pyper-Ferguson, and Billy Drago.
