History: Basil Fawlty is the owner and manager of Fawlty Towers, a seaside hotel in the town of Torquay in Devon, England. Basil is a neurotic and often ill-tempered man, constantly frustrated by his employees and the guests who stay at his hotel. He is known for his sarcastic wit and dry humor, often getting into arguments with his wife Sybil and his Spanish waiter Manuel.

Despite his flaws, Basil is a skilled hotelier and is devoted to his hotel, often going to great lengths to maintain its reputation. He is also ambitious and always looking for ways to improve the business, but his impatience and short temper often get in the way.

Basil's most memorable moments include attacking his car with a tree branch, pretending to be a doctor to impress a group of guests, and attempting to hide a dead guest's body from the other guests.
