GCeA 64 Collage 52 Indie Live Superheroes/Protagonists Update 1 of 5+

The Purple with Green Polka Dots Ultra Kamen Range-Rider has captured a number of superheroes and quasi-superheroes from throughout the omniverse. Some heroes have powers, some have a costume and an excellent (or maybe barely adequate) set of skills and fight crime/seek vengeance on evil/rescue people/teach lessons/do... something more or less positive. Some are hyper competent, others probably aren't even skilled enough to be incompetent. But all need rescuing. They are trapped a special force field. You have a gun that can penetrate the force field by identifying them by number/name/continuity.

Rules I'm playing by this round:
1. Different versions of a character from different continuities are possible.
2. Conversely the same actor can appear in multiple rules
3. For real-life superheroes (RLSH) you don't need to ID a particular show or documentary movie they appeared in, just that they're a RLSH. Because it might be some time if ever before I do another marvel or Dc live round, this is the one area where I allow a few people inspired by DC or Marvel Universe characters.
5. Streaming characters are okay.
6. Inevitably some great characters are going to be missed for one reason or another.
7. I work with what I have. It's possible that in some cases I grabbed the wrong character, but I try to avoid that. I also try to avoid images of toys and artwork but some might slip in (some of the Japanese toys look very close to the Japanese TV versions they're connected to).
8. Puppets are considered live action.
9. Some superheroes included may be unfortunate stereotypes for one reason or another but are included because they are interesting in some manner.
10. No barbarians, no jungle heroes unless they're fully costumed (not just wearing a small amount of animal skin).
11. No hardcore sex characters are in the collage to my knowledge (I didn't want to do an image search that might result in things I really don't want to see; plus I'm aware they are quite a number of them) but I did include softcore characters.
11. I tried to include characters from as many countries as possible and not just make this US-centric.
12. If a character is animated in a movie where the bulk of the movie is live action, I've included them.
13. A few things I skipped because I wanted to avoid spoilers.
14. Feel free to discuss any character found, as there are a lot of interesting characters below. I doubt anyone has heard of every character in this collage prior to playing. I sure didn't.
15. Some DC characters allowed if they are part of creator owned lines that don't normally connect to DC.
16. Commercials are included as long as there are no more than two unidentified characters (I'll allow three or more if all the actors at least can be identified). For such unidentified, if it's just one, note "unidentified" and the commercial's product. If two, something simple like "unidentified boy", "unidentified, blue costume" etc. and the product is fine.
17. No guess limits. For questions, you may ask unlimited Yes/No questions a day, up to 20 open ended questions a day.
18. For Power Rangers type characters, the default in 2020 were the US versions. This time it's the Japanese versions, so some images may repeat. Where US versions not seen in the 2020 versions do appear, they are generally out of costume to distinguish them from the Japanese versions which use the same action footage.
18. For Japanese franchise characters, with a few exceptions, where more than one character uses the same code name (often resulting in the same footage), I've generally shown them out of costume for the "non-main" version unless an image in costume can only apply to such versions. If there seems to be a clear main version, they're the ones who are in full costume. This is because my research suggests that stock footage is often used regardless of who is wearing the costume. Sometimes however, an image is clearly the different user (e.g. if a woman replaces a man) in which case i'm more likely to go full costume for both versions. The first few in the collage I was more willing to chance in costume images for borderline cases but I soon switched to simplify identification.
19. Hercules in 1960s Italian movies pose a bit of a problem in terms of determining which are in the same continuity, what with multiple actors playing him concurrently. The big problem of course is that no one cased about such things back then. For purposes of this collage series, I'm separating the continuities by actor. That way at least each actor playing the character gets his due.
20. While most characters are from material not in the 2020 collage, there are some exceptions, either because I unearthed another character from the show/movie, or because a new character was subsequently introduced in the show.
21. While I've avoided villainous protagonists, some characters are included who are super but who aren't quite heroic. A good example are the protagonists of Misfits. They definitely have powers but they accidentally killed a few innocents and didn't seem all that upset about it, which pushes them out of the superhero category strictly speaking. But they are clearly inspired by superhero fiction and thus are included anyway.

I won't do any clues this round or start on the next collage until at least 50 characters are identified between this collage and earlier collages (so 2 here and 48 in the last Marvel collage will activate the clues). I will however answer questions as per the above parameters.

Re: GCeA 64 Collage 52 Indie Live Superheroes/Protagonists Update 1 of 5+

I wanted to play up this collage series a bit more. Unlike the more recent rounds, this set doesn't have many minor characters within a movie/series/et al, though of course the source itself can be obscure. Non-protagonists are only included if they're superheroes. So no random newscaster/bartender/lawyer etc this time around. For protagonists, I've included some super-characters who might not fit the strictest definition of superheroes as long as they're close to the archetype and aren't outright villains. For example, the protagonists of Misfits are arguably not true superheroes because they are often selfish and they're rather blasé about accidentally killing probation officers; at the same time they're clearly a nod to superheroes and aren't outright villains so I included them.

I've also included quite a few real life superheroes, so people who dress in costume and either patrol the streets or otherwise do activities in the public sphere. For the most part I've skipped people dressed as Marvel or DC characters but I've included a few who tweak that look a little and who are more notable than cos-players.

Characters from Power Ranger, Kamen Rider, and other Japanese series are covered in a lot more depth this time, this time focussing more on the Japanese versions rather than the Americanized versions. Powered heroes like monsters have greater focus this time. Hercules was excluded last time but this time there's multiple incarnations of him. And finally, superheroes unique to commercials are included. Some of them are actually quite creative and deserve to be better known, so I'm hoping this college series will raise awareness that they exist.

So hopefully some of you will try this series out and see who you recognize.
