I can now confirm that some of the users I purged were indeed spambots. There's been a rash of spambots trying to get in since the purge and failing the human test, and since one had a catchy email, I recognized it as one of the names I purged.

Thought I'd give people a glimpse behind the curtain and show how I determine if someone is human or spambot. Some spambots just repeat their username, others just change a few letters from their username, and, more, infrequently, some give answers that are actually a bit entertaining. I confess to not being familiar with the comic, TV show, and movie named below. Zithromax z-pak price without insurance isn't in my Overstreet so it must be one of those obscure B&W titles that the guide doesn't cover.

I'm thinking of moving Gotta Catch 'em All and Omniverse into their own sections, as opposed to part of Anything Else Pop Culture Related. That way new posts in those two aren't always competing with Obituaries for visibility on the main page. Thoughts?

Changes made today:
Moved Gotta Catch 'em All and Omniverse into their own sections; you can't turn a sub-forum into a forum so I had to create new forums and move each thread individually.
Pinned the original, non-game Gotta Catch 'em All thread (only the general game thread previously pinned)..
Moved Evidence of Separate Universes into the Omniverse forum as it's an obvious variant of that sort of thread.

I've been changing the first posts of Raw Data threads into Google docs. I had previously done this with the Marvel Master List, but have now also done so with the DC version, plus Sightings and Posters. While this does require an extra click, it allows for easier navigation, plus we no longer have to worry about running out of space or how Boardhost will reformat the data,

As I'm sure everyone's noticed, I've made some changes to the colour scheme to try to make the forum more eye appealing. What are people's thoughts. If anything is less readable now, let me know and I'll switch things back. But I think black lettering on yellow background is still quite readable.
Also next year is our 20th anniversary. Do people have any 20th anniversary suggestions for the forum?

That yellow is very... bright.
Honestly, I'm not a big fan of the new colors.

Okay. if people aren't liking them I can try to revert back to the older colours or try something different. I was trying to go for something a bit more otherwordly but I wasn't a fan of Capes (Optional)'s white on black.

How is this? Not as glaring but gives it more of an otherworldly feel.

Well purple is my favorite color, so I can't really complain lol

Following up on my previous question of if anyone has any 20th anniversary suggestions for the forum.

Just two days before I add a few things 20th anniversary related. Let me know your thoughts!

Some people are reporting missing PM's from their Inbox. It looks like Boardhost can restore them, but will only do so for people who specifically ask for them. The URL to reach them is:

A minor switch: because he's the one most active in the thread, skippcomet is taking over from Lonewolf36 in terms of handling the Imaginary threads, the main one in particular. This is strictly a practical decision as he's in a better position to keep the list of names in the main Imaginary thread up to date. As with Lonewolf36 before him he's otherwise hands off in terms of Moderator activities. If I'm not available, zuckyd1 or Loki are the ones to reach out to.
