From Amazon:
Publication Date: August 15, 2012
Get the complete history of Wolverine from his earliest solo miniseries all the way up to the present day. This book comes packed with synopses - introducing you to the characters, teams, places and equipment that appeared within, and providing vital information about all things Wolverine!
COLLECTING: The Wolverine sections from WOLVERINE, PUNISHER & GHOST RIDER: OFFICIAL INDEX TO THE MARVEL UNIVERSE 1-8
Me:
Barring any delays on the Punisher book's part or a last minute reprieve of the Index books in general, this will be the final Marvel Index volume for the foreseeable future, as I predicted on my blog (it makes sense that this would be the final volume since you want the volume that will be the freshest in people's minds afterwards to feature one of Marvel's most popular characters).
While I'm not holding my breath, obviously I hope my prediction is wrong due to a last minute reprieve.

One thing that reassures me that Marvel probably won't cancel this at a later date is that the inside back cover to the Punisher index depicts the front cover of this volume.

Just wondering what the current status of this is.
I'm also a bit concerned for everyone: Wolverine's already had an encyclopedia volume cancelled on him. If his index also gets cancelled can you imagine how that will affect his disposition?

I guess when it comes to getting stuff like this published, he's NOT the best there is at what he does.

If I had to guess, this will materialize next year in time for The Wolverine.

That was sixteen years ago. He's probably over it.

Sixteen years our time, but only one or two years in his eyes due to Marvel compression. Plus with his advanced longevity even the Reagan era probably seems fairly recent to him, comparatively speaking.

As suspected, in Marvel's April solicits...just in time for the movie.

Here's hoping it sells extra well so that Marvel gets the message that break time's over for the Handbook writers!

I'll definitely be picking this up! Still wondering about that canceled Encyclopedia volume... and still a bit miffed that it was solicited in the tpb but not included!

Just wanted to check on when it's supposed to hit stores. The last solicitations said April but it hasn't appeared yet and it's not on Marvel's trade releases for the next few weeks. But if it's at the printer it must be getting close to reaching the stores?

But Amazon is usually a bit behind the comic shops. Check their release dates for the Essential volumes for example.

Looking forward to owning my own copy next Wednesday!
I think there was a lost opportunity with the cover though: you should have shown Wolverine telling the readers, "Okay. Now. This is your third chance. If you don't buy a Marvel Index this time, I'm gonna come to your house and shred all your She-Hulks, red or green!"

Still haven't gotten my copy. Can anyone confirm the "new material" - history of Wolverine and skipped chronologies?
Thanks!
note: the reason why I didn't get it yet was because when the LCS owner went to order it, he saw the Spider-Man version ( ) and ordered that one instead - FOR HIMSELF! Oh well at least it was a handbook sale, right?

3 pages of back story before the Wolverine #1 entry. New chronologies appear to be all there at a glance (some issues don't have chronological info for Wolverine but that more than likely due to being in the middle of a storyline, as issues at the end of a story sometimes have extensive chronologies; for one story in Wolverine #1000, Wolverine has eight lines of chronological into). The most recent issue in the volume, #304, further takes his chronology to #317.

Ok so to clarify, the last floppy (issue 8) covered up until Wolverine (2010-2012) issue #5 and this continues with:
Wolverine (2010-2012) 5.1, 6-9, 1000, 10-16
Wolverine: Debt of Death (2011) 1
Wolverine (2010-2012) 17-20
Wolverine (2012) 300-304
Wolverine Art Appreciation (2009) nn
So there are 24 additional issues indexed tacked onto the end if I counted that right.
