Re: Gotta catch 'em all challenge #19 Independent Live Superheroes/Quasi-S

Everyone to post 150 is correct. Kick-Ass is my favourite non-Marvel/DC superhero movie

Sadly Jet Jaguar to my knowledge has only made one appearance, in Godzilla vs. Megalon. Which is a shame because a robot that gains the ability to grow to giant size just because it decides that's the best strategy deserves an encore appearance.

It was interesting to discover that the German Sesame Street had a superhero that the American version doesn't have.

I have to amend one answer. For 310, while Rhonda Blake was indeed a recurring character on The Greatest American Hero, she never wore the red jammies, so 310 is back on the board.

Okay, since you did have the right image of the character before and since this round has more characters than usual, I'll let that correction not count as one of your 30. Holly Hathaway is correct.

Re: Gotta catch 'em all challenge #19 Independent Live Superheroes/Quasi-S

Those are correct. I tend to see the movie and TV versions of Black Scorpion as the same character. Tellingly, the first two episodes had a home video release under the name Black Scorpion Returns.

While Captain Freedom is just a small part of the series, Hill Street Blues deserves its acclaim.

Defendor is probably my favourite superhero movie not based on a comic character. It's a very nuanced story, and tackles the subject of a hero with diminished mental capacity far more sensitively than Handi Man.

With Alter Egos I was impressed that they actually managed to show powers being used despite a low budget. It hasn't stuck in my mind as much as I'd like, but I recall enjoying it.

Very true. Handi Man was a character I put in the collage more for historical purposes than out of any liking for the character.

Regardless though, Defendor is a great movie, treating the hero's disability as an asset in some ways and a liability in others, putting him in a very realistic kind of danger. It's billed as a comedy but I would describe it as more of a drama with some comedic moments.
