Re: Unofficial Marvel Profiles

I'll fold him in later, but Back Issue #145 has Tom DeFalco's likely original notes to Ron Frenz on Puma, which are done in a style very close to the original Handbooks.

Re: Unofficial Marvel Profiles

I folded in a bit of new info from Avengers: The Ultimate Guide to Earth’s Mightiest Heroes (2012); zuckyd1 previously indicated there were other editions so I added the 2012 clarifier to the listings. Also added: Aliens, Robots, and Spaceships (oh my!), Avengers: The Ultimate Character Guide (not to be confused with the above), Spider-Man: Inside the World of Your Friendly Neighborhood Hero, and Cheerios.

I don't have Avengers: The Ultimate Character Guide or Spider-Man: Inside the World of Your Friendly Neighborhood Hero so could zuckyd1 or anyone else check the profiles please to make sure I link to the right real names? I just took a wild guess if unsure. Spider-Man characters in particular seem to like to share code names; it's probably only a matter of time before Mary Jane Watson becomes Sandman and J. Jonah Jameson becomes Spider-Woman.

To clarify one point, the Spider-Man book appears to have multiple profiles on the same characters. So if you see SpMIns x2 that means there are two profiles on the character that are less than a page. If however you see SpMIns, SpMIns 2, that means that a profile that is less than a page is followed (later in the book) by a 2-page profile.

Which editions? Avengers has 3 and Spider-Man has 2.

Re: Unofficial Marvel Profiles

Given something you mentioned previously, are you saying that both The Avengers: The Ultimate Guide to Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and Avengers: The Ultimate Character Guide both have multiple editions? Oh boy.

Okay:
The Avengers: The Ultimate Guide to Earth’s Mightiest Heroes: 2010
Spider-Man: Inside the World of Your Friendly Neighborhood Hero: 2012

To which I'll now add:
Wolverine: Inside the World of the Living Weapon: 2009

Basically I'm going through the old Non-Marvel posts chronologically, skipping the RPG as they are or will eventually be in the RPG thread. I'm currently at August 30, 2013.

I assume you mean that Avengers: The Ultimate Character Guide is 2010, because for Avengers: The Ultimate Guide to Earth’s Mightiest Heroes you already posted the 2012 version.
Do you need me to double-check the Wolverine book as well? (which only had one edition)

Yes, you're right. I copy and pasted the wrong title. Yes please for Wolverine. In particular for that book, I wasn't always sure what was a character profile and what was an event profile.

Just so I'm clear, both of the two Avengers guides above had multiples under their respective titles? I'm only adding years to the individual listings where there's at least one word difference.

Re: Unofficial Marvel Profiles

Spider-Man: Inside the World of Your Friendly Neighborhood Hero (2012)

Madame Web is Carpenter
One of the brief Venom entries is Thompson, the other is Brock. The 2-page entry is Brock.
Anti-Venom is Brock
The brief Spider-Girl entry is Corazon. The 2-page entry is May Parker.
Spider-Woman is Drew
One of the brief Green Goblin entries is Norman Osborn, the other is Harry. The 2-page entry is Norman.
The Other is about the storyline, not the totem.
The New Spider-Man is arguably more about Miles Morales than about the event.

Thx. I corrected the first two but your post from Aug 30, 2013 (12:54 pm) indicated that Wasp (Pym) was in it as well (Wasp II; to be consistent with the Master List I'm normally leaving out Roman numerals).

Wolverine

The Origin is specifically about the 6-issue storyline, not Wolverine’s origin in general.
Weapon X is about the Barry Windsor-Smith story, not the program in general.
Onslaught is about the entity, not the event.
Death is about Wolverine’s Horseman alter ego, not the cosmic personification.
Weapon Plus is about the government program, not the space station.
Death of Wolverine is about the Logan Dies storyline, not the 2014 event.

Re: Unofficial Marvel Profiles

Thx for the latest corrections. I adjusted most of the above, though what you indicated for Green Goblin seems to jibe with what I already had.

A follow up question and a new question:
Avengers: The Ultimate Character Guide and The Avengers: The Ultimate Guide to Earth’s Mightiest Heroes both had multiple editions, correct?

Question I overlooked before: for Death of Spider-Man (Ult) was that his death that lead to Miles Morales becoming Spider-Man or his death from roughly a year prior (real world time)?

I've now added Iron Man: The Ultimate Guide to the Armored Super Hero (2010 if there are multiple editions). For my sanity and to avoid a lot of cross-references that people probably won't use, I created a special sub-section on the Iron Man armors a little ways below Iron Man himself, This is another book I don't have so I had to make more guesses. I imagine most of the supporting cast are okay, but less sure on some of the villains and Spare Parts Man. With one exception that I caught, I assumed that that armors were listed in the same order as the model numbers in the Handbooks.

Both Avengers books have multiple editions.
I don't understand your Death of Spider-Man question.
The Iron Man book has just one edition.

Thx. Iron Man

Both Crimson Dynamo entries are about the armor, not any specific wearer.
Spymaster is about all three individuals.
Firebrand is about Dennison.
L.M.D. is specifically about the Tony Stark version.
Spare Parts Man is about Tony Stark’s nickname when he fought Dr. Demonicus.
The 2-page Iron Patriot entry is about Osborn.
