History: Tom is a housecat who has been engaged in an ongoing rivalry with Jerry the mouse for many years. Tom is often tasked with catching Jerry by his owner, but despite his best efforts, he is constantly foiled by Jerry's cleverness and resourcefulness.

Tom's attempts to catch Jerry have led to many destructive encounters, including the destruction of household objects and the accidental injury of other characters. Despite this, Tom is a skilled hunter and fighter, possessing incredible agility and reflexes.

Despite his aggressive nature, Tom has been shown to possess a softer side on occasion, such as when he fell in love with a female cat named Toots.
