History: Stanley Stewart was a research chemist working for Kinney National Chemicals when he was abducted by the criminal scientists of the group known as the Brand Corporation. The Brand scientists experimented on Stewart, attempting to replicate the process that had given the original Whizzer (Robert Frank) his superhuman speed. The experiment was partially successful, and Stewart was endowed with the same powers as the original Whizzer, but at a much greater level of intensity. He quickly became a public hero, calling himself the "Whizzer" in honor of his predecessor.
Whizzer soon joined the Squadron Supreme, a group of super-powered beings who had established themselves as protectors of the world. However, the Squadron's methods of "protecting" the world were often at odds with those of the Avengers and other super-teams. After the Squadron's leader, the Nth Man, revealed his true intentions of global domination, the Squadron disbanded. Whizzer joined a new team, the Redeemers, whose purpose was to bring the Squadron to justice. During the ensuing battle, Whizzer was fatally wounded, but was able to help bring down the Nth Man before succumbing to his injuries.
Whizzer was later resurrected by the sorcerer Doctor Strange to help fight the evil Hyperion (Zhib-Ran). He subsequently joined the Avengers as a member of their reserve team, alongside other "Golden Age" heroes. He also helped reform the Squadron Supreme and assisted them in their struggle against the forces of the cosmic entity known as the Beyonder.
In recent years, Whizzer has continued to operate as a hero, frequently teaming up with other heroes such as Spider-Man and U.S. Agent. He has also faced off against his evil counterpa
