History: Dr. Clayton Forrester was once the head of the Gizmonic Institute, an organization dedicated to researching new forms of space travel. However, he became increasingly dissatisfied with the slow pace of progress at the Institute and decided to take matters into his own hands. Along with his assistant Dr. Laurence Erhardt, he kidnapped a man named Joel Robinson and shot him into space on the Satellite of Love as part of an experiment in psychological torture.

Forrester spent several years monitoring Joel's progress from his lair at Gizmonic Institute, sending him terrible movies to watch as part of his "experiment." Eventually, Joel escaped the Satellite of Love and Forrester was forced to flee the Institute, taking his experiments to Moon 13.

Forrester continued to experiment on hapless test subjects, using the same "movie sign" method to force them to watch terrible movies. He also developed a rivalry with Jonah Heston, a new test subject who had taken Joel's place on the Satellite of Love.

Despite his evil ways, Forrester was not without his redeeming qualities. He had a strained relationship with his mother, whom he loved deeply, and he occasionally showed flashes of genuine remorse for the suffering he had caused.

Forrester's fate remains unknown, as the final episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000 ended with him and his assistant Max being blasted into space.
