K is Correct
R is Incorrect. Richie may or may not be in the title, but whichever title it is, both co-stars are mentioned in the title
W. I'll give you this one. The full title is Wanted: The World's Most Dangerous Criminals
X is Correct

Re: General Comics Trivia

Calling a day's notice on the following. Note that I had previously said that O was Correct but that was an error on my part. It's actually Incorrect, though there was a subsequent reprint title by that name (in fact I had worded the question in such a way to rule out that answer). So the remaining questions are brought to you by the letters J, O, Q, and R

J. Black Hood and other superheroes appeared in this 1940s comic
O. This was the first series to reprint Ghost Rider stories, starting with a retelling of his origin
Q. Charlton briefly published the adventures of this equine hero
R. This title co-starred Harvey’s two best known characters

Re: General Comics Trivia

Jackpot Comics.
Original Ghost Rider Rides Again.
Richie Rich and Casper.

10/01/2020 5:33 am  #214

Re: General Comics Trivia

Those three are correct. The first issue of Original Ghost Rider Rides Again retold Ghost Rider's origin with the revelation that Mephisto rather than the real Satan was behind Johnny's origin.

If anyone can figure out Q, the new round will start today instead of tomorrow, It's a very well known character.

Incorrect. Remember, the Q is always the first letter unless it's The or something similar.

The only horse I can think of whose name starts with Q would be Quickdraw McGraw. I can't recall him having his own licensed title with anyone, but I suppose it's possible.

That's the answer I was looking for (Quick Draw McGraw). Going by the Overstreet price guide, he's actually had two titles, at least in the US. The first started with Dell before moving to Gold Key (it had 15 issues total, including one with the "Four Color" numbering, 11 at Dell, 4 at Gold Key). The second was the Charlton series, which lasted 8 issues. So not a hot seller, but his comics do exist.

Re: General Comics Trivia

This quiz is devoted to religion in comics. The focus here is on the most active religions, Christianity in particular (though the Norse and Greek gods do have 21st century worshipers). Note that all Spire Christian titles are one-shots, though some have recurring characters. Note also that I do these questions from memory, though I sometimes doublecheck things after coming up with a question) so I’m not snubbing/downplaying any one religion on purpose.

1.Which licensed character had multiple Spire Christian titles despite there being non-religious titles by their owner concurrently?
2.For the above, which title had a witnessing gag on the front cover?
3.Who is the only other character in Spire Christian titles (also not religious) to have multiple one-shots devoted to them?
4.What was usually the final digit of the price of Spire Christian Comics?
5.Who were the owners of Spire Christian Comics?
6.Which real life musician had their own Spire Christian title?
7.Which company publishes miniature one-shots of a “fire and brimstone” nature (meaning a lot of the characters wind up in Hell at the end of the story due to their behaviour)?
8.Who published The Life and Times of Pope John Paul?
9.Which character in Ghost Rider comics might be Jesus?
10.What is the Thing’s religion?
11.Which popular 21st century Marvel character who has had their own title is Muslim?
12.Which member of the Global Guardians is Jewish?
13.Which writer on which DC series left the title because DC killed a story in which the hero meets Jesus even though it had previously been approved and the then-current storyline was already heading to that point?
14.Which two titles was Father Craemer a supporting character in?
15.Which Vertigo series sometimes had the lead character at odds with God, although he fought a number of other opponents as well?
16.In which Image title did God use an expletive when telling people not to mess with him?
17.Who opposed Thor because of the former’s Christian beliefs?
18.In The Boys, which member of the Seven is the most Christian at least at the start of the series (the answer may or may not be the same as in the TV show)
19.Which superhero’s mother is a nun?
20.What is Nightcrawler’s relgiion?

2. Archie's One Way
3. Barney Bear
4.9
5. That I don't know off the top of my head
6.Johnny Cash (titled "Hello, I'm Johnny Cash")
7. Jack Chick
12. Seraph
14. Suicide Squad and the '90s Spectre series
16. Savage Dragon (#31 to be precise)

Re: General Comics Trivia

Those are correct for the most part. Technically the company that creates the small comics is Chick Publications with the late Jack Chick the founder, but close enough. I generally don't split hairs with these unless it veers too close to something else.
In case anyone is wondering if you can say God's quote from Savage Dragon, my answer is, well, you can certainly try to do so...

Here's the cover to Archie's One Way:

Here's the cover to Archie's One Way:

I didn't answer #5.
I actually have a number of Spire comics, which is how I knew the answers.
And there's two versions of Savage Dragon: one where God uses the expletive after he slugged out the Devil, and one with it censored and the words "God is Good" within the Image symbol.

Yes, I meant that of the ones you did answer, you were correct. 5 is the only one left.
5.Who were the owners of Spire Christian Comics?
[I'll add, don't cheat by checking this source, but the name I'm looking for is the other company name the Overstreet Guide always lists with Spire]

Re: General Comics Trivia

Those are correct. With Femforce, what threw me off is the new Overstreet guide (which I used to check if it was still being published) claims it ended with 109, but I see there's a Feb 2020 review online for #188, so obviously the guide is way off on that one. The Overstreet guide does have some weird errors. It used to have a list of teams and one of the teams they listed was Brainiac 5.
