History: Matthew Murdock was born and raised in Hell’s Kitchen, New York City, by his single father, Jack Murdock, a struggling boxer. Matt’s life changed forever when he saved a man from an oncoming truck, resulting in a chemical spill that left him blind. The chemicals, however, heightened his remaining senses to superhuman levels, granting him the ability to "see" the world in a unique way through sound, smell, touch, and taste. Despite this tragedy, Jack instilled in Matt a strong sense of justice and the value of hard work.Jack Murdock was later killed for refusing to throw a fight, a murder orchestrated by the criminal underworld of Hell’s Kitchen. Orphaned, Matt was taken in by the mysterious Stick, who trained him in martial arts and honed his heightened senses into powerful tools. Despite his abilities, Matt chose to pursue a legal career, attending Columbia University and graduating with a law degree. Alongside his college friend, Foggy Nelson, Matt opened the law firm Nelson & Murdock, dedicated to helping the underprivileged.However, the corruption and crime in Hell’s Kitchen became too overwhelming for Matt to ignore. By night, he became the vigilante known as Daredevil, using his training and enhanced senses to fight the criminal elements in his neighborhood.
