AI Non-Marvel/DC Profiles - Fine Print

Just to be safe, I want to put in a disclaimer that these profiles are intended as a fun, fair use means to encourage discussion of characters and/or AI and are not intended to infringe on anyone's intellectual property. Material in this forum will never be sold for any reason. They're intended just to be a fun way of seeing what an AI comes up with when asked to create a profile.

Characters in this section are copyright the respective copyright holder(s). Profiles unless noted were created using ChatGPT. The profiles have varying degrees of accuracy, even when there is no discussion after the initial post. It is not recommended that you use these profiles as reference for these characters except perhaps as a starting point. Please do not copy and paste these profiles elsewhere without permission, except maybe brief snippets noting these are ChatGPT profiles and not necessarily accurate.

Re: AI Non-Marvel/DC Profiles - Fine Print

An update: ChatGPT has now made a deal with the US government. Who Watches the Watchers has to be politically neutral and not support AI connected to any government, be it the right, middle, or left of the political spectrum. I'll leave up the existing profiles because there is evidence that bots are picking up on the AI aspect when answering the membership questions, which makes it easier on moderators. However, if I create further AI profiles, I'll go with a program with no explicit political affiliations.

Re: AI Non-Marvel/DC Profiles - Fine Print

I have some news that might be disappointing for some: When I created the AI profile section on WWtW three years ago, it was a light hearted means to see how well AI could generate profiles while also showing the need for human writers, showing that the Handbook writers are irreplaceable. However, AI is starting to become politically charged with environmental considerations and copyright issues, as well as ties to governments and corporations. I'm concerned that with AI showing up everywhere, the AI section could be seen as an endorsement of AI and not simply a little bit of fun. It might even scare off people who just want to talk about reference style periodicals and books and want a break from everything being AI assisted. WWtW strikes to be politically neutral though of course everyone has their views. Since AI is no longer a politically neutral topic, I will take down the AI section around May 1, no earlier than that but not much later than that. So if there are any profiles you want to save, you have a couple weeks to snag them before I take them down. Comments and questions are welcomed.
