Re: Gotta catch 'em all challenge #1 - Where's Wall-E?

With no new identifications in nearly a day, I'm guessing players are hitting a wall. So some additional clues for the remaining 8:
28 Mid-2000s American SF movie. Not Jumanji.
37 Late70s/early 80s US SF TV series. Didn't appear until later seasons. Two other robots in the show are also in the picture and have been identified.
39 Mid-80s SF US animated movie. Several reviewers described it as a Star Wars rip-off.
81 Mid-90s US TV pilot for a TV series that never happened. Created by a writer with several credits in other TV series and books, but most notably for a string of super-hero anthologies.
109 British video game character, with a very SF name. Star of the aforementioned game, which was released as shareware.
158 Early 80s UK TV series, animated but not cartoon. The opposite number to an already-identified other robot in the picture. This robot and that one don't get along; they roll differently.
179 Late 2000s animated SF movie; I previously identified it as US, but apparently it was a co-production with Spain and Britain.
T Late 90s US animated movie, based loosely on a British novella. This is the biggest robot in this artwork.

Re: Gotta catch 'em all challenge #1 - Where's Wall-E?

81 sounds like it's George R. R. Martin's Doorways, but I skimmed through both the movie and the IDW adaptation and I didn't see anything that matches.

Martin is not the only one to write for the anthology you are thinking of.

Apparently the most common "complaint" about the original version of the artwork was "You forgot the Iron Giant." Except the artist hadn't - but including him when all the other robots were human sized or smaller was problematic. So he figured a way round the problem.

Correct. He's clearly into 80s fashion, with exaggerated shoulder pads.

The current issue of SFX just so happens to have an article about him.
