Andy E. Nystrom wrote:

For the duo I'll go with Tony Newman and Doug Phillips from Time Tunnel; never watched the show but the images seem to match a stock photo I found.

Correct.

Andy E. Nystrom wrote:

Slight correction from above: as noted in my original post, Garth Ranzz should be listed as Lightning Boy, not Lightning Lad. The tip-off is the costume's colours. He only wore the costume with red in it as Lightning Boy. Most his Lightning Lad costumes have been some variation of blue, yellow, and white, though his Silver Age costume had orange leggings and belt buckle.

Noted. I'll amend the next time I update the images.

Re: Gotta catch 'em all - Indie Wars

Updated clues, removing those now identified and adding a little extra info to the vaguer clues:
Second image, panel 2:

The bald man in the grayish jumpsuit is from a 2010s US cartoon.
The glowing guy is from Marvel. We don't normally see him so large.
The Time Bandits are holding something interesting.
So is Sherman.

Last page - Ichi's sword is an identifiable cartoon item.
The giant with the top knot and reading the map is someone who is normally encountered fighting to the death.

Yep. From the 1980s TV series Voyagers.

Re: Gotta catch 'em all - Indie Wars

Aren't the Time Bandits simply holding the map from the movie? Or is the pyramid supposed to be part of the map?

That's what I was after. Yes, it's from the same movie, but it is a viable artifact worthy of mention. No idea on the pyramid, but no, not normally part of the map.

Is the sword from Legend of Zelda?

Nope. I will say, assuming I've got the right sword myself, the symbol on the hilt sometimes changes to a much more obvious clue to its origins, and it doesn't normally have a jewel at the bottom of the hilt.

Perhaps the guy in the last panel holding an umbrella is Klaus?

Hmm. Not 100% sold, but it's definitely possible.

The sword depicted isn't a perfect match, but that's what I think it is intended to be, considering the hilt emblem and the curving pommel guards.

I don't think so. If it's what I think it is, it's a weirdly incongruous device that has no time travel connections that I'm aware of - though I guess it might well be dimensionally transcendent, since it holds stuff that shouldn't be able to fit into such a small sphere.

Re: Gotta catch 'em all - Indie Wars

A new clue, as I just realized who someone else is meant to be:

Last page and panel, the man eating the burger. In the movie version of the comic, he lost the shades and the excessive shoulder pads.

Re: Gotta catch 'em all - Indie Wars

Page 2, panel 2: in the top left corner, the object being held by the primitive-looking man with the red cape looks like a Dogū https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dog%C5%AB
The girl in front of Lightning Boy is Saturn Girl, even though her costume lacks its' usual colour.

Page 3, panel 2: the alien on the left, running the Snacks booth, is Dexter Jettster from Star Wars: Attack of the Clones.
On the right end of the panel, beside Rusty Venture, are his friends Dr, Billy Quizboy and Pete White.
(White, in case you don't know what he looks like)

Yes to all of those except perhaps Saturn Girl. I have to admit she was the first person I thought of, but when I checked Saturn Girl's costumes I couldn't see one that matched this one. It's possible that she's a bit off model, but everyone else is on point, so I'm hesitant to confirm for certain it is her - I'll put her down as a likely, but not confirmed.
