With this series of posts I plan to make notes on every entry in the Deluxe Edition. The format is not intended to be consistent with any published indices but it will be consistent more or less with any future such indices I do on the other Handbooks. I’m hoping this will provide info on the various entries that you can’t find anywhere else.
The format will be as follows:
number and date
Cover Artist (if the same for multiple issues, only the first instance listed)
Writers (if the same for multiple issues, only the first instance listed)
Entry name (page count in parentheses)
Writer (only if can be determined for the specific entry)
Main Art Credits (and original source of the art; for this category and the next, artists with multiple names are listed as originally credited):
Secondary Art Credits, if applicable (and original source of the art):
Notes (if applicable)
Deluxe Edition notes:
Indicia title is Official handbook of the Marvel Universe, Vol. 2
For Main Art Credits, Josef Rubenstein is the inker for most entries, so usually only the penciller is listed by entry. When “first series” is noted without reference to a specific title, it refers the first Official handbook of the Marvel Universe series; if it says altered, it means the art is essentially the same as was used in the first series, but there’s been some modifications; art creator for the Deluxe Edition is listed as “new”.
For Secondary Art Credits, for the most part, I haven’t begun during that research. If before I get to then, anyone provides the info, I’ll fold that in. Otherwise I’ll research that later. If Eliot R. Brown is credited, it means some sort of schematics are in the entry.
References to Roman numerals match those used in the entry,
For most individual characters, unless otherwise noted, the categories are Real name, Occupation, Identity, Legal status, Other current aliases, Former aliases (latter two if applicable). Place of birth, Marital status, Known relatives, Group affiliation, Base of operations, First appearance, Origin (titles, not background), History, Height, Weight, Hair, Eyes, Unusual features (if applicable), Strength level, Known superhuman powers. Additional categories if applicable: Other abilities, Former superhuman powers, Weapons, Transportation, Limitations

Stopping for the evening, but updated to #5

Oh, and one thing I noticed this evening: If you look at the Elders of the Universe entry, it actually previews the updated Main Image for Gardener as well as the Main Image for the new Possessor profile.

Updated to the first half of #15. More later today

Updated to #17. Even though in some cases a secondary illustration is easy to verify (being a death scene), I'll still wait to add those in, as I need to verify it's the original scene and not a new drawing, as well as determining the penciller and inker. I'll tackle some of that in the next few days if someone else doesn't beat me to it.

Updated to #20 and added extra book of the Dead credits up to Melter.
