A few broad clues:

a. One comics based character is missing the comic they debuted in; that is not an oversight on my part.
b. In the tally, consider where the obscured sources are placed.
c. One comics based character was played by someone who went on to be far better known playing another comics based character.
d. One comics based character was originally depicted as from the future in the comics but that was never the case on the show..
e. One character is a counterpart of a cast character.
f. The character from Stargirl has been seen in the season currently airing but debuted earlier.
g. One 20th century character has a 21st century counterpart at least in name.
