History: Everett Ross was a former United States State Department employee who served as the Wakandan liaison, responsible for handling diplomatic relations between the United States and Wakanda. Ross later became an agent of the Central Intelligence Agency, the Joint Counter Terrorist Centre, the Joint Intelligence Agency, the United States Secret Service, and the Strategic Hazard Intervention Espionage Logistics Directorate.

During his time in Wakanda, Ross became embroiled in the political and personal conflicts of the country's ruling family, the Black Panther and his arch-enemy, Erik Killmonger. Despite being initially out of his depth, Ross proved himself to be a capable and dedicated ally to the Black Panther and aided him in numerous battles against enemies both foreign and domestic.

Following his time in Wakanda, Ross has worked with various superhuman individuals and organizations, including the Avengers, the Secret Avengers, and the Agents of Wakanda.
