History: Arthur Poppington was an average man working as a construction worker until the murder of his mother drove him to become a vigilante known as Defendor. He donned a homemade costume and began patrolling the streets of New York City, taking on a variety of street-level criminals.
Defendor became known for his unconventional methods, often using strange tactics to take down his foes. He also worked closely with a young prostitute named Katerina Debrofkowitz, whom he saw as a friend and ally.
Despite his efforts, Defendor often found himself at odds with the police, who saw him as a dangerous criminal. He was eventually arrested and spent time in prison, but was released due to a lack of evidence.

I would disagree about him being highly intelligent. He's certainly intelligent in terms of unconventional battle tactics, but it's a major plot point that he cannot fully comprehend what's actually happening. For example, when an undercover cop shoots him with blanks, he believes he has somehow become bulletproof.
