Powers/Abilities: Dr. Erhardt is a brilliant inventor and scientist, with expertise in robotics, nuclear engineering, and various other sciences. He was instrumental in the development of the Satellite of Love and its various systems, including the bots Tom Servo and Crow T. Robot. Erhardt is also skilled in improvisation and problem-solving, often assisting Dr. Forrester in his schemes to torment Joel Robinson.

History: Dr. Laurence Erhardt was a scientist at the Gizmonic Institute, working alongside Dr. Clayton Forrester on various projects, including the development of the Satellite of Love. Erhardt assisted Forrester in his plot to send Joel Robinson into space and force him to watch bad movies as part of a psychological experiment. Erhardt remained on the Satellite of Love for several months before being accidentally killed by the Mads' own invention, the "transporter accident."
Comments: Dr. Erhardt's fate was not revealed until "The Thing That Couldn't Die" (Mystery Science Theater 3000 Season 1, Episode 17), several episodes after his death.
