History: Martha Hanson is a secretary at the FBI who begins a romantic relationship with Phillip Jennings. Unbeknownst to her, Phillip is actually a KGB operative, and uses their relationship to gather intelligence on the FBI.

Over the course of the series, Martha becomes increasingly suspicious of Phillip and their relationship becomes strained. She eventually becomes a liability to the KGB and is exfiltrated to the Soviet Union.
