History: Liam was born in Ireland in the 18th century and lived a life of debauchery and excess until he was turned into a vampire by the vampire Darla. Under Darla's tutelage, Liam became Angelus, a vicious and sadistic vampire who terrorized Europe for centuries as a member of the Whirlwind.
In 1898, Angelus was cursed by a group of gypsies, causing him to regain his soul and feel the guilt and remorse for the evil deeds he had committed as a vampire. This led him to leave Europe and come to the United States, where he eventually settled in Los Angeles.
In Los Angeles, Angel became a vampire hunter and formed Angel Investigations, a private detective agency that specialized in supernatural cases. He worked closely with Buffy Summers and the Scooby Gang, and eventually got his own spin-off series, Angel.
Angel has faced numerous foes over the years, including his own evil alter-ego, Angelus, and the law firm Wolfram & Hart. He has also been involved in numerous romantic relationships, most notably with Buffy Summers and Cordelia Chase.
Strength Level: Angel possesses superhuman strength and is one of the most powerful vampires in the Buffyverse. His strength is further increased when he experiences moments of true happiness, but this also comes with the risk of losing his soul and reverting to his evil persona, Angelus.
Miscellaneous: Angel was created by Joss Whedon and first appeared in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, "Welcome to the Hellmouth" in 1997. The character has since appeared in his own spin-off series and various comic book series. Angel is known for his brooding personality and tortured past, and is considered one of the most iconic characters in the Buffyverse.
