History:
Marc Spector was born in Chicago to a Jewish family and grew up with a troubled relationship with his family, particularly his mother. His early life was marred by the traumatic death of his brother, Randall, for which his mother blamed him. This trauma contributed to the development of Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), with Marc creating different personalities as a coping mechanism.Marc eventually joined the Marines and later became a CIA operative, where he honed his skills in combat and intelligence gathering. After leaving the CIA, he became a mercenary, taking on dangerous assignments for money. During one such mission in Egypt, Marc was betrayed by his employer and left for dead in the desert. Near death, Marc stumbled into an ancient tomb where he encountered the Egyptian god Khonshu. Khonshu offered to save Marc’s life in exchange for becoming his earthly avatar, a Fist of Vengeance. Marc accepted, and thus Moon Knight was born.As Moon Knight, Marc Spector operates with multiple distinct identities, including Steven Grant, a mild-mannered gift shop employee with an extensive knowledge of Egyptian history, and Jake Lockley, a brutal and ruthless enforcer who does whatever it takes to achieve his goals.
