Re: General Comics Trivia

15. isn't quite there in title or issue number but close for both. The rest are correct. "A/An" of course gets the same out as "The" for purposes of these quizzes as they are typically skipped in alphabetizing. I wonder if naming the pocket universe Supergirl Matrix was a nod to the pre-Crisis Supergirl foe since both were artificial lifeforms.

Re: General Comics Trivia

You have the title right now. Getting warmer with the issue number. 85 and 86 are significant though: 85 was the final issue as My Greatest Adventure and 86 was the start as Doom Patrol, but the team appeared a little earlier.

Remaining answers:

5. What was the first weekly comic mini-series, at least in the US?
Millenium. I don't know if they happened elsewhere but where I lived, every issue except the first was a week late, meaning the tie-ins you were only supposed to read after the latest issue of the mini-series arrived the week before the issue in question.

15. What was the first appearance of the Doom Patrol? [My Greatest Adventure # ????]

Those are all correct. This Quicksilver is the Golden Age hero and not the character From the X-Men and Avengers stories. I just noticed today that Nightcat #1 isn't even listed in the current Overstreet, which is very unusual for a Marvel comic.

Re: General Comics Trivia

Remaining answer:
18. What was the first appearance of Dr. Occult?
New Fun Comics #6

This quiz is a sequel to an earlier one.

For all the questions below, there are descriptors of two characters from different companies who share the same code name (spelled the same way). Name the code name and both companies.  Yes, many of the questions will relate to the Big Two, but not all relate to both of them. In most cases, a clue for a particular version might be too vague, but the clues together should point to one answer. Should the clues point to multiple answers, I reserve the right to add to the clues as this gets pointed out.

If the company name has changed since they first appeared with that company, you can use any name used while at that company, or the current name.

If the character has been used by multiple companies, you can use any company they’ve been owned by, as long as they’ve used that specific code name with that company, and as long as this would not result in the same company for both characters.

NEW: In some cases the answer might be the same as in the earlier quiz, but at least one of the characters will be different, if not both.

1. One is a mercenary who had a short lived series, the other is a major foe of a hero and later adopted the identity of another foe of that hero.
2. One is the mysterious head of a team of heroes, the other is an heroic spy.
3. One is an enemy alien who went native, the other has a subway train as part of their origin.
4. One is the short lived alias of a hero before they took on a better known identity, the other is a super-villain who married another super-villain.
5. One is the 1980s name for an apparition seen in 1940s comics, the other is another apparition who had a short lived series.
6. One battled a hero while the hero’s teammates were away, the other was a 1940s villain who worked for another 1940s villain in 1980s comics.
7. One is a hero with bells as part of their costume, the other is a frustrated actor.
8. One has worked for carnivals, the other is a western hero.
9. One is part of a hidden race, the other is a metallic hero.
10. One is one name for the ruler of a world, the other has battled a white garbed hero.
11. One is part of a hero team with an acronym, the other is a hero with a demonic father.
12. One’s real surname is a culinary occupation, the other has a gas gun.
13. One is a hero whose power is a bit of a liability, the other has powers similar to their father’s.
14. One is a hero who died and got better, the other is a hero who later moved to another planet and joined a team there.
15. One uses a boomerang, the other has a disability.
16. One is the tiny member of a hero team, the other was a sidekick until his partner was killed.
17. One was only seen under this name in an ashcan comic, the other is an homage to the character the first character was renamed.
18. One is possessed by something they wear, the other was a 1940s hero’s arch nemesis.
19. One is an anti-hero who ate criminals, the other is the superhero identity of a real life comedian.
20. One is a private investigator, the other's surname (alter ego) is a type of weapon.
21. One is an actress, the other is a burglar.
22. One had a very short lived series, the other’s face was badly scarred by an anti-hero.
23. One is a villain who has been brought back from the dead, the other had a monkey for a sidekick.
24. One wore a see-through shirt, the other tried to organize a temporary villain team for a specific purpose.
25. One was raised by birds, the other was a gender swapped hero.
26. One is a hero who became a villain for a time, the other was killed in an attack from behind.
27. One was killed on a trip to a parallel Earth (they got better), the other sometimes wore glasses while crime fighting.
28. One was killed by an anti-hero on their first outing, the other is a villain active in the far future.

30. One was a hero who had a sidekick, the other was a villain who was murdered by another villain.
