Re: TV Series Trivia

Calling a day on the following. Only just noticed a couple things from before: for newlywed Game I meant "couples" of course; For Forever Knight, it's Loki's answer that was correct

1. This 1970s cartoon series had a well intended costumed imp causing problems for a couple of superheroes
5. Farmer Brown was a villain in an episode of which series?
7. Which show had as part of its theme song "It's the [show title], we invited you."
11. On Picard, what is the name of Picard's dog?
16. The closing theme of this series had "Je cherche l'enfants, je cherche l'enfants, mon ami, mon ami".

Re: TV Series Trivia

1 New Adventures of Batman. I presume you are talking about Batmite.

Re: TV Series Trivia

1 is correct. Bat-Mite was a well-intended screw-up on the series rather than a villain.

Re: TV Series Trivia

2. the New Batman Adventures? (I don't remember what the series was called at the time, although I do know that Steve Gerber wrote that episode)

3/14/2021 7:14 am  #337

Re: TV Series Trivia

You probably meant 5, and yes, that's the series name. Fans hated it and Bruce Timm on the Commentary track mentioned he chose that episode (Critters) for Commentary because he wanted to do an unpopular one. However, he mentioned he really likes it and I have to say it's one of my favourite as well. I suspect if you like twisted humour like Gerber was good at, it's more up your alley than if you just want to watch a more traditional gritty Gotham episode.

The others:
7. Which show had as part of its theme song "It's the [show title], we invited you."
New Zoo Revue

11. On Picard, what is the name of Picard's dog?
Number One

16. The closing theme of this series had "Je cherche l'enfants, je cherche l'enfants, mon ami, mon ami".
Nikita (Canadian name for the first series, aka La Femme Nikita)

Those are all correct. Actually, checking further, it seems that because Sesame Street has multiple Grouches, he not be Oscar. If not, that's my mistake.

Re: TV Series Trivia

8 is incorrect (doesn't start with the letter O; still a segment during pandemic times). 10 is correct.

6. Which area of British Columbia did the second series/season of the UK version of The Mole hold its competitions?
Okanagan; my dad lived in the region until he passed, albeit not where the show was shot, so I found it quite amusing that this was the exotic location chosen that time around.

8. In non-pandemic times, what is normally the last segment on episodes of Real Time with Bill Maher?
Overtime (it's possible that this is only on YouTube which is where I always watch; I've always assumed it was part of the broadcast)

9. If you ignore the creator's name part of the title, which series once had the agents go up against a crimelord who appeared to be just a dumb blonde stereotype?
[John Woo's] Once a Thief

11. This sitcom was about a 24 hour grocery store owned by Gordon and Gretchen
Open All Night (Wiki, so take this as you will, claims that show has no connection to Open All Hours)

Re: TV Series Trivia

Those are correct and I kind of have to agree with Bill Maher: the terrorist attacks were pure evil, but not the acts of people trying to play it safe.

Re: TV Series Trivia

Remaining answers:
1. This series involved the fictional hockey team the Hamilton Steelheads
Power Play. I accidentally spoiled this in the Copps Coliseum post but no one noticed.

4. According to the show's theme, to be a [show's title] Master was the singer's destiny
Pokémon

9. Nia Peeples hosted this series which was basically just people partying to music.
Party Machine. In college dorms at least one person was really into the show. The appeal of watching other people partying on TV, even if some of them are celebrities continues to elude me.

14. In which game show is there sometimes a round called Temptation?
The Price is Right.
Here is a pandemic era episode with that round:

16. One episode only of this series took place in Harmony
The Prisoner (the episode being Living in Harmony).

Unsurprisingly, Harmony was revealed to be part of the Village at the end of the episode.

18. For most of the original run of Hollywood Squares who occupied the centre square?
Paul Lynde.
