Incorrect: The real name of the original Blue Beetle was Dan Garrett.
Correct: His name was Dan Garret, with one T. The Garret version was a police officer who was a non-powered hero to start with and eventually gained powers by using a super drug named Vitamin 2X. The Garrett was an archaeologist who gained his powers from a magical scarab he had from the beginning of his career.

Incorrect: Drax's soul was in Adam Warlock's Soul Gem along with Adam, Gamora, and Pip's, and he was reborn along with them.
Correct: Drax died after the other three, his soul was in the realm of the dead, and he was reborn earlier when Thanos was unstatued. I saw this in Infinity Countdown: Adam Warlock.

In the preview for an upcoming auction, there's the colour guide for a Shamrock entry in a group of Update '89 guides. It does make me wonder how many other profiles got cut. I know the Sunrise Society had an entry reference in the Shadowmasters entry, and I assume Leiko Wu would have gotten since the rest of Shang-Chi's Marvel created supporting cast did.

i also found the art to a number of unpublished Master Edition profiles, such as Hellcat, Ferocia, the villain Magma, the 3rd Foolkiller (identified as II), Sif, the Two-Gun Kid, Battleaxe, Vagabond, and Andreas von Strucker, as well as alternate costumes for Falcon and Thor.

I assume the Nemesis one was in the wrong grouping. The art seems similar to that of other profiles of Alpha Flight characters in the Update '89 and the small picture under the main one doesn't seem to depict a death, which it would if it was from the Book of the Dead.

Also, I assume the Rhodey profile was cut because he already had one in the Deluxe Edition as Iron Man "II" (since Eddie March wore the armour before him) and not really much had changed since then.

Interesting to see the unpublished Master Edition profiles.

And now there's other lots of colour guides, with more surprises. Clay Quartermain, Clive Reston, James Rhodes. Curiousier and curiousier.

Nowhere Man: After taking a picture of executions in South America, photojournalist Thomas Veil finds his entire life erased, and is forced to go on the run throughout America to keep himself and the negatives out of the clutches of a conspiracy. The closest there has ever been to an American version of the Prisoner. Canceled because the network thought viewers would find the series too confusing, although it was one of the highest rated shows.

Hi. Heritage Auctions has a number of lots of colour guides in their original art auction, and something in one of them caught my eye. Look in the top left corner. That's a Nemesis entry which, as far as I know, was never published.

Here's one I've seen on Wikipedia and CGC labels.

Wrong: the first appearance of the Inhumans is Fantastic Four #45.
Correct: Inhumans first appeared in Red Raven #1 (in a retcon) or FF #36 (with Medusa)

Ignoring retconned Inhumans like the winged race that raised Red Raven and Tuk the Caveboy, saying that FF #45 is the first appearance is ignoring Medusa and Gorgon.

(On a related non-Marvel note, the Swamp Thing that appeared in House of Secrets #92 was Alex Olson and not Alex Holland, the version that is the 'main' Swamp Thing. The Olson version is a prototype of the well known one.)

Here's something I heard a few times. Let me know if I'm wrong or if it has been covered before.

Wrong: The Hulk worked as a mob enforcer as Joe Fixit
Truth: Fixit worked as an enforcer for casino owner Michael Berengetti, and while he did have some encounters with organized crime, neither he or Berengetti were part of it.

the John Force profile is in the style of the Standard Comics Encyclopedia. The other 3 are in a different style

The John Force profile hasn't appeared previously, correct? And for the other 3, is the text the same as in the encyclopedia?

Yes, the John Force profile is new, and the text of the others are condensed from the originals

Thanks both of you for responding. He also did Lords of the Ultrarealm in Who's Who Update 87 #4 and the Hal Jordan profile in the Looseleaf Who's Who. Unfortunately, he cancelled so I guess it doesn't matter.

Does anyone know if Pat Broderick did any work in the Handbooks? He's going to be at a con this weekend.

This campaign is offering a Handbook with the top tier, but the creator has said that when the program is funded, he'll have a stretch goal where all physical backers will get one. So Let's help him out.

Thank you. Yes, it's been a while since I've actually read something with him in it, but at least I was in the right direction.
